1. Browse at the West Chester Christmas Market
2025 Date: December 13th, 11am – 6pm
Location: Gay Street (between Darlington St. & Matlack St.) and Church Street (Between Prescott Alley & Gay St.)
The Christmas market is a newer annual tradition in West Chester, presented by local non-profits in the area. At this free market, you can browse over 90 local vendors to find the perfect holiday gifts for every person on your list. From handcrafted products such as jewelry to local food goods, there’s plenty to browse to find unique, one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts.
2. West Chester Christmas Parade
2025 Date: December 5th. Tree lighting at 6:30pm, Parade starts at 7pm
Location: Tree lighting on the steps of the historic courthouse, parade through downtown West Chester
Located in the downtown area, don’t miss the annual West Chester Christmas Parade. This fun way to celebrate the holiday season has earned “best local parade” and “best family-friendly event” by Main Line Today. The parade consists of local marching bands and award-winning floats. Every unique performance is fun to watch for visitors of all ages. The township closes downtown streets to vehicle traffic, and viewers can stand on the streets to watch the parade.
The festivities kick off before the parade, starting with the tree lighting on the Historic Chester County Courthouse lawn. For the little ones in your group, Santa also makes a much-anticipated appearance at this holiday event! The date for the Christmas Parade varies from year to year but usually takes place at the beginning of December.
3. Explore Christmas Lights Around Town

Each year, Longwood Gardens decks out its miles of property in thousands of lights for a magical holiday atmosphere.

4. Head to a Christmas Tree Farm
Cut down your own Christmas tree as part of a holiday ritual at Wiggins Christmas Tree Farms. Wiggins remains one of the top Christmas tree farms in West Chester, PA, year after year. The farm provides saws and carts for an authentic tree-cutting experience. Staff also help assist by bailing your tree and drilling a hole in the bottom, if desired. Wiggins also provides string to make it easy to transport your new Christmas tree back home.
