Who knew?? West Chester was the most popular place to buy a home in 2023!
According to Zillow, metrics considering page (listing) viewer traffic, home value growth, and days on market were all factors determining the popularity of each town. In West Chester, home values overall increased roughly by 8% and average home values came in at $584,000. Very cool data if you are interested in that kind of thing….Digging a little deeper into the story, there was one detail I found most interesting. Zillow stated roughly about two-thirds of the page views came from a location outside of West Chester. Reflecting on 2023, I realized that same detail. Most of the buyers purchasing homes came from outside of town, whether it be from a different county or out of state in general. This is different to previous years when most of the buyers were local. On a surface level of thinking that only means to me more competition, which has led to higher sale prices. All in all, a good thing if you are someone who sold a home last year or plans to sell a West Chester home in 2024.
